Onboarding Employees with Hearing Disabilities

Hearing loss is the second most prevalent health issue around the world. In the United States, about one in five people and three in five combat veterans have some amount of hearing loss. Managers or supervisors will inevitably have an employee who has some degree of hearing loss. Employers have a legal obligation to make reasonable accommodations that enable employees with disabilities, including hearing loss, to be successful in the workplace. This report provides information, insights, and best practices on how companies are on-boarding employees with hearing disabilities and providing a welcoming, inclusive space for such employees.
