Women’s Equality Day

October 2025

This report highlights the history, significance, and ways to honor Women’s Equality Day, celebrated annually on August 26 in the U.S. to commemorate the 1920 ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment granting women the right to vote. Established nationally in 1973, the day recognizes both past progress and the ongoing pursuit of gender equality. The report encourages organizations to mark the occasion through education, community engagement, and recognition initiatives—such as hosting panel discussions, amplifying women’s stories, and acknowledging internal contributions. It also underscores the importance of intersectionality, reminding companies to address overlapping barriers faced by women of color and other historically excluded groups.
