Supporting Employee Well-Being in the Workplace

April 2024

The corporate world has been in a state of flux since the COVID-19 pandemic, with greater focus on employee safety, values, and flexibility. The through line for many of the culture issues workplaces are facing is employee well-being, also known as employee wellness. Employee well-being covers all aspects of working life, including health and safety, the physical working environment, the company culture, work-life balance, employees’ physical and mental health, financial well-being, and job satisfaction. Since the pandemic, 63 percent of employees say employee well-being is more important than ever, and 85 percent of companies now have a formal well-being strategy that encompasses physical, emotional, social, career, and financial health.

In this guide, you will learn:

  • Why employees consider well-being so important and the impact well-being has on the physical and mental state of employees.
  • How to prepare managers to support employees through training and resource building as well as promote well-being on an individual level.
  • Benefits that are top of mind for employees and can improve overall well-being, including examples of how internal well-being challenges can improve employee engagement and happiness.
  • The impact employee resource groups (ERGs) can have on employee well-being and why a well-being ERG may be a great addition to a company.
