Paid Time Off for Volunteer Work

June 2018

Experts and employers say it is becoming increasingly common for workplaces to offer paid time off to do volunteer work as part of an effort to boost engagement and retention among employees. An annual study of employer benefits by the Society for Human Resource Management found that 22 percent of respondents offered this perk, and has been steadily increasing. The Millennial generation has been a driving force in the increase of employees adopting paid time off for volunteering because they value companies that support a greater cause. Instead of writing a check many companies are rolling up their sleeves and doing manual labor to support their communities.

This report lists companies who have implemented paid time off (PTO) volunteer hour initiatives aligning with their corporate values and corporate social responsibility.
