This report explores the emotional and political reactions of women of color in the U.S. following President Donald Trump’s reelection. Research from the Anxiety & Depression Association of America and CAWP reveals heightened stress, fear, and disappointment—particularly among Black women, who were key supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris. Many women are experiencing “high-functioning depression,” balancing professional duties while coping with anxiety and fatigue. The report also shares strategies for employers to support affected employees, including mental health resources, flexible scheduling, and inclusive dialogue. Seramount’s post-election listening sessions further confirm that women of color remain among the groups most in need of workplace support and protection.
