- Arab – People who identify as being from one of the 22 Arab League nations who share a common language, history, and culture. Arabs are also one of many ethnicities that practice Islam, but not all Arabs are Muslim; 7 percent adhere to other religions (i.e., approximately 5 percent of Arabs are Christian; approximately 63 percent of US Arabs are Christian, 24 percent Muslim, and 13 percent have no religious affiliation).
- Today, an estimated 3.7 Arab Americans live throughout the US, with nearly three-quarters residing in 12 states: California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
