Dr. Cristina Trevizo-Nimeri (BSN, RN)

Cristina Trevizo-Nimeri, DNP, RN, serves as the Manager of Health Equity at Fresenius Medical Care North America. With more than 23 years of experience in nephrology and 25 years as a registered nurse, she has dedicated her career to advancing equitable healthcare and improving outcomes for underserved populations. Throughout her career, Cristina has held a variety of leadership and clinical roles, including Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Transplant Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Acute Care RN, and Kidney Care Advocate.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Cristina serves as Chair of the Organization for Hispanic & Latino Employees and Allies (OHLA) Employee Resource Group, where she champions initiatives that promote inclusion, representation, and professional development. She also recently joined the faculty of the City Colleges of Chicago as an Adjunct Professor, furthering her commitment to education and workforce development.

Cristina earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from DePaul University. Her scholarly work on health disparities in home dialysis utilization was published in the Nephrology Nursing Journal, reflecting her longstanding commitment to addressing inequities in kidney care. She is passionate about raising awareness of healthcare access barriers and their disproportionate impact on at-risk and underserved communities.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Cristina is actively involved in community service and advocacy. She volunteers with the National Kidney Foundation, supporting outreach and educational initiatives aimed at improving kidney health awareness and patient engagement. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Transplant Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing access to organ transplantation by addressing insurance-related disparities and reducing financial barriers to life-saving transplant care.

Through her leadership, advocacy, research, and service, Cristina continues to advance health equity and create meaningful opportunities for individuals and communities facing healthcare disparities.
