Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, received word of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. In this session, speakers will examine how communities honor Juneteenth today through education, celebration, and the ongoing fight for equality.
